Technology, policies, and support designed to protect you before, during, and after every ride.
Company-provided AI dash cams
Through our partnership with Zonar and Samsara — industry leaders in commercial fleet telematics — every Pick N Drop vehicle is equipped with a company-provided, commercial-grade AI dash cam at no cost to the driver. The camera uses dual-facing coverage (road-forward and cabin) and on-board AI to continuously monitor for critical events. When triggered, it automatically generates an objective evidence package (video + GPS + G-force data) and transmits it securely to the cloud for Safety Team review. This is not optional — every vehicle must be compliant before accepting rides.
Trip recording & secure footage retention
Recording starts automatically when the driver officially begins the trip (after PIN verification) and stops at trip completion. The AI-powered system provides front-road and cabin coverage, with on-board intelligence flagging and archiving critical events automatically. All footage is transmitted via encrypted channels to secure cloud storage. Access is strictly limited to authorized Safety Team and Legal/Compliance personnel for specific documented purposes — a flagged incident, a formal complaint, or a lawful enforcement request. Standard non-event footage is overwritten after a short period to protect privacy.
Thorough driver background checks
Every driver must pass a comprehensive, multi-layer screening before accepting a single ride. This includes identity and license verification, Motor Vehicle Record checks (for DUI violations, license suspension, and major infractions), and a full criminal background check run by a third-party provider (such as Checkr), screening for violent crimes, sexual offenses, and drug-related driving violations. Drivers are categorized as Cleared, Conditionally Approved, or Rejected based on a risk assessment. Annual re-runs of MVR and background checks ensure ongoing compliance.
Real-time driver verification
If a rider submits a driver mismatch complaint, the system immediately flags the driver’s profile. If the driver is not on an active ride, they are forced offline instantly. If on an active ride, they complete the current trip normally and are then automatically set offline. Before going online again, the driver must complete a live face verification through Au10tix — their real-time selfie is matched against the original onboarding photo. If verification fails, the driver remains offline and cannot accept rides until the issue is resolved.
Safety risk evaluation
Pick N Drop operates a multi-layered safety risk management framework. The platform uses real-time GPS monitoring to detect irregular trip patterns — prolonged unexpected stops or significant route deviations flag automatically for Safety Team review. Driver onboarding includes mandatory risk categorization, digital consent for all background verifications, and mandatory training modules covering passenger safety, Code of Conduct, and emergency response protocols. In markets with specific regulatory requirements (such as Western Australia), the platform maintains a full Safety Management System covering driver screening, vehicle safety, incident reporting, fatigue monitoring, and complaint escalation.
Verify your ride (PIN)
When you book a ride, the app generates a unique one-time 4-digit PIN displayed prominently in your rider app. At pickup, provide the PIN to your driver before entering the vehicle. The driver must enter the correct PIN into their app — if it’s wrong, the app blocks the Start Trip action entirely. Only with the correct PIN entered does billing begin and full real-time tracking activate. This guarantees the driver who arrived is the exact one assigned to your booking, preventing wrong-vehicle entry in busy pickup areas and protecting against ghost-ride charges.
Learn more →Anonymous calls & messaging
All communication between riders and drivers through the Pick N Drop app uses a virtual number masking system. Neither party ever sees the other’s personal phone number — calls and messages are routed through a secure proxy number that is active only for the duration of the service. Once the trip is completed, the connection automatically expires. This prevents unwanted contact after the ride and protects your personal phone number from being stored or used by the driver, while still enabling essential pickup coordination.
Safety Center
The Safety Center brings together the platform’s core safety tools in one accessible location. From here, riders can activate the in-app SOS button (which instantly shares live location and trip data with emergency contacts and our Safety Team), access the Share My Ride feature, manage emergency contacts, and review safety policies. The Safety Team monitors all active SOS activations via the admin panel’s SOS Management Module, ensuring that emergency contacts are correctly mapped by region for the fastest possible local response.
Visit Safety Center →GPS tracking
Every vehicle in the Pick N Drop network is continuously connected via GPS from booking confirmation through trip completion. The GPS powers the live map view in your app, showing your driver’s exact position and a dynamically updated ETA recalculated in real time based on current speed and traffic conditions. Beyond the rider experience, the 24/7 Safety Team monitors active trips for irregular patterns — extended unexpected stops or route deviations trigger automatic flags for proactive review. GPS data also powers the driver-matching algorithm, ensuring the nearest available, vetted driver is assigned to minimize wait times.
Share my ride
Before or during any trip, activate Share My Ride to send a live tracking link to trusted contacts — family, friends, or anyone you choose. The contact can open the link in their browser or app and see your real-time location on a map, the driver’s name, photo, license plate number, and vehicle model, and the live ETA to your destination. The connection updates continuously throughout the trip. This feature is especially important for late-night travel or solo trips, working alongside the in-app SOS button and 24/7 Safety Team to provide a comprehensive safety net.
Emergency assistance
The in-app SOS button provides immediate emergency assistance with minimal interaction required — designed for rapid activation in a crisis. When triggered, the system automatically shares your live location and trip details with your designated emergency contacts and with Pick N Drop’s 24/7 Safety Team. The Safety Team can immediately review the AI-backed evidence from the dashcam, contact emergency services (police, ambulance) with precise, real-time GPS coordinates, and manage the response. The SOS Management Module in the admin panel ensures emergency contacts are correctly mapped region-by-region for the fastest local response.
24/7 incident support
Pick N Drop’s Safety Team operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a year, staffed by professionals trained in crisis management and incident response protocols. The team is directly integrated with the AI dash cam system — critical events trigger automatic alerts with the full AI-backed evidence package attached, enabling the team to act before a manual report is even made. They manage all aspects of incident response: proactive outreach to driver and rider, evidence review, emergency service coordination, and secure evidence management for legal or insurance purposes. For non-emergency issues, the support team handles payout queries, logistics problems, and complaint resolution.
Insurance during trips
Pick N Drop is actively implementing comprehensive Transportation Network Company (TNC) insurance coverage across all operating markets in compliance with local regulatory requirements. Coverage applies across the standard three trip periods, with liability limits meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements (up to $1,500,000 in applicable markets). In India, this includes mandatory third-party liability, passenger insurance, driver personal accident insurance, and commercial vehicle insurance. In Australia, drivers must carry compulsory motor injury insurance and rideshare-compatible vehicle insurance. Regional requirements vary — check local market details for specifics.
Learn more →Audio recording (optional)
The company-provided AI dash cam systems (through our Zonar and Samsara partnership) include audio recording capabilities as part of their comprehensive trip coverage. The dashcam’s audio recording is part of the standard trip record — not a separate optional in-app feature — and operates under the same strict access controls as video footage. Footage (including audio where captured) is encrypted, stored securely in the cloud, not routinely reviewed, and only accessed by authorized Safety Team or Legal/Compliance personnel for a specific documented incident or lawful request. Recording capabilities may vary by region and applicable law.
